San Elijo Lagoon County Ecological Preserve (Rios)

Walk Rating: Easy, 2 miles, up to 200 ft elevation change

The preserve has more than 250 shore and water birds in multiple plant communities that include marsh, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral. Bring your binoculars!

Canyoneers are San Diego Natural History Museum volunteers trained to teach appreciation of plants and animals in southern California. Walks are open to the public; no reservations are required. For more information visit the Canyoneer hikes page.
