Can Pilates Make You Happier?

So, can doing Pilates really make you happier? We think so and here’s why:
In addition to serotonin and endorphins already known and scientifically proven to come from a normal workout session of any kind; Pilates adds other ingredients to the body mix, your mind and spirit, making Pilates a true whole body exercise.
What is Pilates? Pilates is a whole-body exercise. Complete attention is given to each movement to create the maximum benefit possible. Pilates workouts do not pick one part of the body to focus on but instead trains the whole body, including the mind and spirit. Instead of gym bulking, Pilates focuses on strength, flexibility, increased range of motion for a lean whole body. Due to this, athletes and people of all walks of life who try pilates understand it is the building blocks for all movement.
It is not just us at SD Healthy Living that think Pilates can make you happier, Appalachian State University conducted a study that proves Pilates improves your mood. Another University, Tel Aviv, found that exercise that improves balance (cough..Pilates) helps lower anxiety issues.
A great local Pilates studio to get involved with is Pilates on Park. They have a great schedule on their site and an acupuncturist on site as well. The atmosphere is great, not to mention their instructors are top notch.
Pilates is a great workout to clear your mind while you exercise. It will energize you after a long day that may have made you want to curl up in the fetal position. It will make you feel light, relaxed and yes, happier. Get up, get out and visit Pilates on Park to gain all the benefits that Pilates has to offer.
