San Diego Fair – How to Eat Healthy at the Fair
Published on May 30th, 2013
This years fair is sure to be a great one! The theme this year is all things gaming! From game shows, board games to video games! The food vendors will be out in droves and have been highlighting their bacon treats on local media. What they haven’t highlighted is the awesome healthy options they have awaiting you!
How to eat healthy with all the bacon goodness tempting you?
Nose plugs, blinders and a hired body guard ordered to keep you away.
This year they have gone to extra lengths to bring you some great Gluten-free and low calorie options.
Yes, they do allow you to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks. This is great! Swing by your favorite deli, grab some salads, water, fruit and yummy frozen edamame and you are set!
*Please visit their “What Can I Bring” page for more details.
The Roxy booths near the Bing Crosby Hall will have GF salads (not all are – think croutons). There will be grilled corn on the cob in several locations. Pan Fried Chicken on Spud Shack will have grilled veggies and Chicken Charlies will have chicken kabobs.
Albertson’s General Store:
Albertson’s will be hosting a general store with great fruit bowls, salads, juice, nuts and more! If you can’t find what you need at the GF booths above or need a quick snack. Head on over to the General Store on Wyland Way between the Theme Exhibit and AgriFair!
Have a great time at the Fair! Share your Fair healthy eating pictures on our Facebook!
