Nerd-tastic Guide to Running the Ugly Sweater Run
Published on November 7th, 2013
There are so many fun races out there. Some of these races are competitive, some electric and some are colorful. But, if you want a fun holiday experience, you have to run the Ugly Sweater Run!
Grab your hot cocoa, sit back and enjoy this guide to running this nerd-tastic 5K in style:
The race is on November 30th at 11am so night owls have no excuse. This is a great way to sweat off some calories and have a goofy good time doing it!
Find An Ugly Sweater.
Santa is bringing prizes! Prizes will be awarded for best sweater but the real prize is the winner of the ugly sweater! When picking a sweater, look for outlandish, hideous and even revolting. If your 92-year-old grandma would wear it, it’s probably not ugly enough!
Carb-Load The Night Before The Race.
This is a winter race so it’s mandatory to involve holiday treats in your carb-loading the night before. Go ahead, indulge in a few sugar cookies, popcorn balls, eggnog, gingerbread cake and peppermint bark!
Get To The Race Early.
One, you won’t stress about missing the wintery festivities. Two, you won’t miss the wintery festivities. After all, wintery festivities are a rarity in sunny San Diego. The festivities include: giant inflatable Santa, fake snow and holiday music.
Run and Have Fun!
No race is complete with out the refueling stations. This race is unique because it involves hot chocolate aid stations, as well as holiday activities, fake snow, mustache contests and plenty of beautiful people in ugly sweaters. It’s awesome!
You just did a 5K! That means you get a free wintery adult drink. If age is not an issue, sit back in your colorful sweater and enjoy a nice cold one.
