The Ocean Beach Kiwanis Kite Festival, a beloved local tradition, is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. To honor the anniversary, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. In addition to the traditional free kite making for children, this year’s festival will include demonstrations of kite flying and kite stunts by kite professionals and dedicated amateurs; more carnival rides; more food options, and a brand new location.
The event is put on the by the Kiwanis Club of Ocean Beach as a service to the community, in cooperation with the Ocean Beach Recreation Center and Ocean Beach Elementary School.

The hours are: 9 am to 4 pm for the craft fair and carnival rides; 9 am to 12 noon for kite making; 1 pm for prize judging; and 1:30 pm for awarding of prizes.
